Photographer Jalal Clemens and the You Are Art Studio are focused on creating records of great memories. Jalal’s main passion is to find the unique beauty of each situation and capture it on film. He tries to catch the spontaneity, feeling and atmosphere of a scene rather than just documenting it. Jalal uses his artist’s eye, practiced through the years as a potter, furniture designer and pen & ink artist to compose each shot. His photographic philosophy is:

“Not every picture can be a masterpiece, but every experience can.”

While he shoots everything from major life events to pet portraiture, one of Jalal’s greatest joys is to help non-profits document their major events and raise funds. He accomplishes this by photographing the event and, depending on the arrangement, donating a percentage of the print revenue ordered from the event gallery.
